Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) Europe has chosen a former airline executive to become its next secretary-general. Raphael von Heereman, who has previously worked for Lufthansa, TUlfly and, most recently, Qatar Airways, is to succeed CLIA Europe's current secretary-general, Robert Ashdown, in February next year. CLIA Europe said that its executive and search committee, chaired by board member David Dingle, had examined the credentials of many candidates for the job before opting for Von Heereman.
