There are times when shipping seems to be living in a parallel universe. Investors, financiers, asset players, and even industrialists think of ships as snail transport, plodding slowly and unceremoniously through the world's oceans, carrying commodities from one place to another. For these guys, shipping is an inconvenience; a necessary one, but still an inconvenience. The ships' propulsion and safety systems are pretty marginal elements of the venture.
