Moore Stephens' latest Shipping Confidence Survey Report came as a moderately pleasant surprise to industry analysts although they continue to urge caution, believing the industry's voyage to recovery is likely to be a slow and choppy one. Jesper Christiansen, shipping analyst at Aim. Brand in Copenhagen, said: "The report shows that the industry is looking forward again. It was easy to foresee that confidence would improve with regard to container freight rates, as carriers have announced increases, but confidence is also improving in dry bulk and tankers. This was a mild positive surprise."
