German heavy-load and project cargo specialist SAL is beginning to see some improvements in voyage returns but expects freight rates to remain under pressure for another two years. The company's chief executive officer Lars Rolner had previously admitted that its net result plunged to a deficit following the global recession and slump in the project and heavy-lift shipping market. "This year it's not a loss-making business any more," he told Fairplay.
