Fairplay was scheduled to hold a seminar in Tokyo this week, offering insight into the close ties between the economies of Japan, China and South Korea. If possible, the seminar was to address the question, posed by a former transport minister, of how Japan could regain the status of a seafaring nation. Sadly the seminar was overtaken by a natural disaster of horrific proportions, although thankfully not overtaken by the tsunami that crashed over the coast near the city of Sendai. Our thoughts and prayers go to the families who lost everything last Friday.
