A flurry of activity in South Korea has boosted freight rates for clean products shipments out of the country in the past month. But it has been a different story in Southeast Asia where shipments out of Singapore have stayed flat over the same period. South Korea-North America freight rates have risen to $32.18/tonne last week, from $30/tonne early this month; South Korea-Singapore rates have risen from $10.23/tonne to $10.77/tonne over the same period. Singapore-Japan rates have hovered around W147 while the Singapore-Australia rates have rose from W199 two weeks ago to W202, equivalent to$1.2M/voyage.
