Dry bulk consultancy Commodore Research said that while Chinese iron ore imports set a record in January of 68.97M tonnes, the figure has dwindled to a monthly average of 53.08M tonnes from February-June. Higher Chinese iron ore output has also resulted in growing stockpiles and thus lower imports, said Katharine Koh, research head at Singapore's Island Shipbrokers.
