"We will see massive changes in 2012," Tobias Konig, founder of Hamburg asset management company Konig & Cie, has said. "We will see more consolidation in the liner sector and we will see companies outright disappearing. There is no doubt." Addressing last week's Capital Link forum in New York, Konig envisaged a future landscape dominated by 13,000-18,000teu boxships on the east-west routes, complemented by 1,700-3,500teu feeder vessels.
