Remember the Prestige - where, in 2002, Spanish authorities were begged by the tanker's master to allow him to bring the stricken ship to a safe haven, but refused? Well, this week, lawyers acting for fishermen who lost their livelihoods as a result of the subsequent spill called for nine-year jailrnsentences for Capt Apostolos Mangouras, his chief engineer and first officer. Ironically, the charge is that they disobeyed the Spanish authorities.
