Precious Shipping's boss has warned thatshipyards are losing patience with owners cancelling orders or pushingfor delayed deliveries. Sooner ratherthan later, theyardswillsay"stop this nonsense", managing director Khalid Hashim told the Handysize & Handymax Markets Conference 2009, organised by IBC Asia.That will lead to yards building ships and selling the vessels on their own after extracting any additional costs they incurfromtheowners, Hashim said.South Korea and China are backing their builders to the hilt, he pointed out, but South Korea is supporting only its established yards- with smallergreenfieldyardsgoing bankrupt.
