Luxury cruises to South America and back have been operated for some time by the Andes, and now the Alcantara has been added. These fine ships enable a fortunate few to enjoy a magnificent 'sterling' holiday in winter sunshine. At Rio de Janeiro and Buenos Ayres[sic], passengers use the ship as a hotel, and are thus independent of the need for foreign currency. An equally pleasant cruise along the west coast, via Panama, is provided by the beautiful Reina Del Pacifico. The demand for single passages to South America is not now so difficult to meet as that to some other areas, the service having been augmented by the new Blue Star liner Argentina Star and her sisters.
