Lomar Shipping's announcement earlier this month that it bought the entire fleet of Australia's Allocean for $325M was dubbed 'deal of the year' by the Greek financial press. It is estimated that two years ago the fleet of 26 vessels would have cost the owners of Lomar - Greece's Logothetis family - more than $1Bn.rnDuring 2004-06, the Logothetis family sold 67 ships - by far the majority of its fleet - and focused on other sectors, including hotels, real estate, energy and the leasing of airplanes.
