For the first time in a number of years, two of the major East Coast container ports have actually seen significant reductions in container throughput, while neighbouring ports have thrived. Both Charleston and Miami reported falls in container throughput, while Savannah reported record growth and Port Everglades showed modest gains. At both Charleston and Miami, administrators are vowing that they will reverse the drop.
