A collapse in buyer confidence triggered by the global financial crisis has left Australia's ports awash with imported cars and an industry looking for relief.rnWith a population of 21M, Australia's national vehicle market crested the one million unit sales mark for the first time in 2007, of which 81% were imported. Until the end of October this year sales for 2008 were down just 1 %, but that disguised a rapidly accelerating trend, first apparent in August - a sharp downturn that reached 11.4%, or over 10,000 vehicles, in the month of October.
