Since Rotterdam-based entrepreneur Peter Goedvolk of Argos Oil was crowned 'Port Man of the Year' recently for his outstanding pioneering work in the production and sale of biofuels, he says his business contacts have moved "a level higher". "Recently I was invited to sit next to the mayor of Rotterdam at the top table. It may well be that I'll be sitting in the back of the room next year, but for now I'm recognized for what I do to strengthen Rotterdam's position as an important bunker port."
