Unions led by the International Transport Workers' Federation accused AP Moller-Maersk of "horrific" treatment of its labourers in Central America. Maersk countered that the union assault was merely a calculated ploy to pad membership rolls and denied mistreatment. The ITF, represented by International Brotherhood ofTeamsters VP Chuck Mack, took its case to Maersk's shareholder meeting in Copenhagen on 18 April.
