摘要

Speculators on Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index were scrambling to offload shipping shares this week after the US announced it was reim-posing quotas on certain categories of China textile imports. China Merchants Holdings (International), a giant container port operator with a 30% stake in Shanghai International Port, saw its stock price drop more than five per cent, closely followed by Orient Overseas International (5.05%) and China Shipping Container Line (4.92%).
