The most devastating Atlantic hur-ricane season on record officially ended last week, with forecasters predicting more of the devastating same for 2006. Perhaps appropriately, yet another named system has gathered in the Atlantic: tropical storm Epsilon, about 1,170 km west-southwest of the Azores. It ratcheted up to hurricane status for the second time on Sunday but was expected, as Fairplay went to press, to dissipate without posing a threat to land.
