A sharp rise in the share price of D/S Norden, the Copenhagen-based bulkshipping group, has induced two major shareholders to consider selling their holdings. Two years ago D/S Torm, another listed Danish bulk shipping company, tried to gain control of Norden but failed. John Fredriksen, chairman of Frontline, has been the subject of rumours as an investor who has been been looking to buy in to Norden. But Torm has made it clear it does not want to sell its holding but rather to pursue its original goal of gaining control of the company, in which it has a 33% stake as a result of the failed bid.
