The US Commerce Department ('Commerce') has recently released figures showing that July steel imports were up 4.4 per cent on the preceding month, and 5.8 per cent year-on-year. China led the increase with a massive 236 per cent surge, followed by Japan and then Russia, but this was largely offset by a fall in imports from Indonesia, Canada, India and South Korea.
