In 1995, the Federal German Ministry for Education, Science, Research and Technology awarded a research Project to the BASF Company Fire Service to investigate The scope of application and efficiency of the aerosol Extinguishing process. The first result of this research Project was presented by the BASF Company Fire Service In April 1996 with the so-called "Turbo-Extinguisher"-a Vehicle using two turbine jet engines which is suitable for Investigation the aerosol extinguishing technology(see Fire Engineers Journal, Vol. 56, 9/96).
