I like my airplane and think it is worth whatever it costs to fly. But I have always been amazed at the fictitious claims by some folks of the low operating costs of real or imagined airplanes. Certainly the airlines have learned the hard way that flying them costs more than comes in from filling the seats on the cheap. J. Mac suggested that because I keep complete records and never throw anything away that I might come up with a brutally honest number on how much money goes through the pipe to fly a 1979 Cessna P210. The airplane is "technically advanced" in that it has contemporary GPS equipment, and it is arguably one of the most expensive retractable piston singles to fly.
