"Everything seems to be working correctly," Andy Byron, S-Tec's installation manager, said as he flew my Cardinal on a test flight from the Mineral Wells Airport. He did note the blanking of the Sandel HSI when the gear came up. "It's been doing that but it comes back after a couple of seconds," I said in my airplane's defense. The flight was designed as an "induction" flight to get a baseline on the condition of the autopilot and avionics before S-Tec went to work. When we returned to the airport Andy made a better landing in my airplane than I had in months so I was comfortable that I was leaving my airplane in good hands.
