Biggin Hill Heritage Hangar has applied the National Health Service logo to Spitfire Mk.IXTA805 Spirit of Kent in recognition of NHS staff members' continued work combating COVID-19, as well as a tribute to fundraiser Capt Tom Moore. Biggin Hill engineer Alex Monk told FlyPast: "We put the NHS logo on TA805 because this aircraft represents 131 (County of Kent) Squadron, whose Spitfires were purchased by money donated from the people of Kent during 1941. The good people of the county today have contributed massively to the NHS through various avenues, and although not living in Kent, this was amplified by the remarkable Capt Moore. They are both icons which make the 'Great' in Great Britain really mean something, and we are proud to have the NHS logo emblazoned on the fuselage."
