It is not very often you see a feature on one of our forgotten aircraft, in this case the great old Beverley. I enjoyed the article on the type in the September issue, which brought back many memories of the five years I worked on them as an engine fitter. I was on 47 and 53 Squadrons at Abingdon and 34 Squadron in Singapore. It was an engine fitter's nightmare - you had to be a jack of all trades and master of them all. There were numerous propeller and engine changes and then more of the same, plus many oil leaks and plug changes, all 36 of them, and other faults that turned up daily.
