Staff from the RAF Museum at Hendon, London, held a turf cutting ceremony on December 7 to celebrate the beginning of the relocation and refurbishment of the historic Grahame-White watchtower building.rnThe structure, which was erected in 1911, was once the centre-piece of aviation pioneer Claude Grahame-White's aircraft factory in Hendon, and therefore at the heart of many significant events in the early years of British aviation. Flying from the site ceased in the 1960s and the long-since redundant watchtower building has fallen into disrepair.
