Kingman Regional Medical Center in Kingman, Ariz., is already planning ahead for the area's growth by expanding in any way it can. Robin Rush, director of nutrition services, says she has many new ideas; she just needs time to implement them. "I always solicit feedback via e-mail, via walking around the cafe or using a suggestion box," Rush says. "When I first got here I was revamping the menu and whenever someone had a menu idea, I'd incorporate it." Since Rush came to the hospital two years ago, her department's revenue has increased by $150,000. She says her willingness to listen to customer feedback is a big part of that jump. Rush's most effective way to gather customer input is through e-mail blasts.
