The federal communications commission wants greater government control of the Internet in order to provide all Americans with cheaper access to it. Among the ideas on which it is ruminating is forcing Internet providers to share their networks with rivals at fees set by the government. To get the money to help connect all U.S. households to the Net, the government would levy new taxes on your telephone landline and on calls made from mobile phones.
