At the thanksgiving day parade in New York City, Hit Entertainment invited big shareholders and their children to see some of the company's most lucrative brands floating down Central Park West There was Barney, the giant purple dinosaur; Bob the Builder, a hard-hatted construction worker with a can-do attitude; and Angelina Ballerina, a dancing mouse in a pink tutu. Facing a tough Christmas season, London-based Hit had to do something to maintain investor enthusiasm. Hit gets 7.2% of revenues selling its programs, mostly to public broadcasting outfits; the rest comes from videos, DVDs and royalties on toys, lunchboxes and such.
