A few columns ago I noted my botched landing and subsequent "off-runway excursion" through the buffalo grass in my little single-prop Cessna 172. Plenty of readers wrote in to razz me. "Cessna?" asked one. "Why in the world are you flying that recycled Pabst can? I recall last year reading how you flew in a princely Beech Bonanza A36. What happened to your Bonanza?"
