A recent article by Miranda et al. in this journal [1] is concerned with possible use in 'friendly combustion' of debris from a forest floor in a particular region of Spain. Having perused the paper I have the following points to make.rnFirst there is the statement in the Introduction:rn... thermal applications such as pellets and biofuels are much more profitable than the generation of electric energy [sic]. This is due to the fact that they are easier to realize, require less financial investments [sic] and have smaller environmental impacts.
