An article by Singh et al. [1] describes an extensive programme of work on the use of waste tyre fuel in electricity generation. The present author wonders whether the authors of [1] have considered a point which he himself made fairly recently [2]: that rubber is of plant origin therefore tyre waste can be seen as a carbon neutral fuel. That means that carbon credits will ensue from the use of such a fuel. This could add a significant dimension to the findings and conclusions in [1].
