摘要

HSO_3F dissolves asphaltenes, but this dissolution reaction is accompanied by strong redox reactions: SO_2 evolves, accompanied by HF. This is due to its powerful oxidizing sulfur atoms at the oxidation state +V. We found that sulfonation occurred: sulfur atoms are mainly present as -SO_3H. The -SO_2F group is also present, in small proportion. Modified asphaltenes behave as cationic resins.
