More than any other technological advance of the next three decades, the Space Elevator has massive implications, great risk and great opportunity, for American national security decision-makers. Now is the time to shape what will happen, to take advantage of those available options; not to smother this project with regulation and government ownership, nor to neglect it entirely, but to ensure that the Space Elevator reality becomes the best scenario possible for the United States.
