The European Water Framework Directive demands from the member states of the EU to achieve good conditions of their water bodies until 2027. This paper illustrates by means of three examples the options for the fulfilment of these requirements by realization of simplified land consolidation procedures. It is presented how land use conflicts in the implementation of the European Water Framework Directive may be solved by land consolidation procedures of private benefit.
