The availability of safe and high-quality food is an essential need of societies today. The taste of various foods must satisfy our individual expectations and health requirements, but that's not all. Today's consumer also expects food producers to deal sparingly with the environmental and economic resources available to them. Minimizing the energy consumed during food production of course plays a special role, as this not only benefits the environment but also reduces production costs over the long term. Companies whose production processes comply with these standards certainly have a tremendous market advantage as they compete for the consumers' favour.
