Most Parisians - 75% - think that their tap water is of reasonable quality. The same proportion also think that the price is reasonable. These are the results of a survey carried out by market researcher Ipsos on behalf of the municipality (Mairie de Paris), the municipality's water company SAGEP - which was renamed Eau de Paris at the beginning of this year - and the two operating companies: Compagnie des Eaux de Paris (Compagnie Generale des Eaux, Veolia group) on the right bank of the Seine, and Eau et Force Parisienne des Eaux (Lyonnaise des Eaux, Suez group) on the left bank. In last year's survey, 19% of Parisians were "completely satisfied" with the quality of their tap water, and 56% were "largely satisfied". Only 19% were "largely unhappy", and 6% were "completely dissatisfied" - an improvement on the 15% who were completely satisfied in 2003, with 56% largely satisfied.
