French utility Suez plans to abandon its 30-year water concession in Santa Fe, Argentina on November 25 after an attempt to sell it appears to have failed. Suez's timeframe for selling its 51.69% stake in Aguas Provinciales de Santa Fe (APSF), which has been supplying water and wastewater services in 15 cities in the northeastern farming province since 1995, to Argentina's Fides Group expired August 15, following an extension from July 31. A spokesman for Santa Fe's Ministry of Works, Public Services and Housing told GWR that Suez and Fides did not present the required documentation for the province to approve the transaction.
