French utility Suez is in talks with a possible buyer for its controlling stake in Aguas Provinciates de Santa Fe (APSF), the biggest water services provider in the central Argentine province of Santa Fe, a person close to the proceedings said. On December 2, Santa Fe Public Works Minister Alberto Hammerly received a two-page letter from APSF CEO Alberto Gregorini requesting permission for Suez to sell its 51.69% holding to a local group, a spokesman for the official told GWR. Gregorini wrote that a preliminary agreement had been signed for the sale to Petroquimica Capitan Bermudez y Central Termica Sorrento, both controlled by Sergio Taselli, a wealthy businessman of Rosario, Argentina who specializes in turning around troubled companies.
