Orange-tinted snow fell in Eastern Europe over the weekend, confounding people in Russia, Bulgaria, Ukraine, Romania and Moldova. The reason: sand storms from the Sahara Desert that mixed with snow and rain. Scientists say this happens about every five years, but that didn't stop social media posts about "skiing on Mars." The dust storm seemed particularly large this time. NASA satellites started picking up the dust Friday, and skiers complained about getting dust in their mouths.
