摘要

Minnesota is considering a ban on an insecticide that is suspected of killing bees, said the state Department of Agriculture in a study outline of the chemical. Regulators are considering a ban after more than 400 residents wrote to the agency with comments about the proposed review of the insecticides called neonicotinoids. The chemical has been linked to the decline in bee populations around the world. The original outline by the agency didn't include the possibility of banning the insecticide, said Gregg Regimbal, an official with the department's Pesticide & Fertilizer Management Division. "Obviously, people are very interested in this," Regimbal said. "It's a very complex issue, and it's highly charged."
