In 2005, Administrator Stephen Johnson launched the EPA's Sustainable Infrastructure Initiative to guide the Agency's activities in changing how the United States views, values, manages, and invests in its water infrastructure. This effort is to reach out to the leaders of the water industry to identify best practices and develop a "roadmap" for promoting sustainable infrastructure.
