Where will we put it? In a nutshell, this is the central question of Too Hot to Touch by William M. and Rosemarie Alley (2013). William Alley, Director of Science at the National Ground Water Association, was the Chief of the Office of Ground Water at the U.S. Geological Survey for almost 20 years and oversaw the Yucca Mountain Project for USGS from 2002 to 2010. Rosemarie Alley is a literacy specialist. Together, they have written an accessible, thorough history of nuclear waste generation and disposal.
