摘要

The development of new micro- and nano-technologies is fast-paced, but there are still many issues to resolve in the thermoftu-ids engineering of small-scale devices: from the fundamental simulation of fluid flow and heat transfer, to the optimization of design for fabrication and system integration.This special issue includes selected heat transfer papers from MNF2009, the second Micro & Nano Flows Conference held at Brunei University, West London, UK, on 1st and 2nd September 2009. This followed the successful first MNF Conference at Strathclyde University, Glasgow, Scotland, UK. Developments included a separate Biomedical subject stream, and a Special Session on Modeling the Mesoscale. The Conference was very pleasingly successful with some 115 international and UK delegates.
