摘要

The influence that Airbnb, upscale hostels, co-working spaces and concepts like mindfulness are having on the traveling public begs the question, "Is hospitality fundamentally being redefined?" No doubt, the hotel industry is responding to changing demographics and psychographics with new lifestyle brands that sell new experiences and services. How on target are they, though? To gain greater insight about how hoteliers are competing, HOTELS gathered eight industry leaders for a roundtable hosted by The Wall Street Journal to discuss topics including co-working and wellness, as well as how to best deploy emerging technology. At the end of the day, how much is success tied to creating a more sophisticated mousetrap, or does it still boil down to great locations, great amenities and the best service?
