The Tsogo Sun group last fall won five of the nine Imlevo Responsible Tourism awards organized by the Federated Hospitality Association of Southern Africa in association with the National Department of Tourism. Its Riverside Sun was named overall winner for its sustainable and responsible practices. All the hotels and resorts within the Tsogo Sun group fall under Tsogo Sun's SunCares Environmental Management Program. Among its initiatives is the Tsogo Sun Academy, created to transfer skills to employees from previously dis-advantaged communities. Tsogo Sun's SunCares Arts Academy launched in 12 schools in South Africa's Gauteng province in March with a curriculum that uses the arts to provide opportunities for change in the lives of young people.
