Beyond the obvious need for privacy, spacious treatment rooms and a beautiful view, the spas getting recognition from Conde Nast Traveler and Vogue are as likely to reflect the sleek, yellow and blue modernity of the latest Givenchy spa at the new One&Only Le Touessrok in Mauritius as the warm earthy tones and faux finished adobe walls of Santa Fe's Inn at Loretto, a Noble House hotel in New Mexico. Inspired by the hotel's architecture and interiors, spas are claiming an aesthetic identity worthy of a revenue generator that can massage an extra 10% or more into the bottom line.
