摘要

You may feel from experience that Generation Xers and Yers require more managing and attention than other workers. It appears those generations agree with that premise. In a survey conducted by the staffing consultant Hudson, one-quarter of Generation X and Y workers said they want more feedback from their bosses. Compare this to only one-fifth of Baby Boomers who feel that need. Half of young workers said they want to work in the same office as their bosses and 81 % said they want instant access to their bosses. Only 44% of Boomers wanted to be so close to the boss. Foreign employees who don't pick up English quickly - especially company-specific terminology -can prove a drain on your resources. Some firms have tackled this problem effectively and ecomically by setting up "occupational English" courses. These courses don't try to give Berlitz-style language training. Instead, they teach technical terms and common grammar errors with job-related words.
