On April 12, by a vote of 50-48, the Senate confirmed Patrick Pizzella to serve as Deputy Secretary for thernDepartment of Labor. It was a strict party-line vote with Republicans voting to confirm the nominee, andrnDemocrats and Independents opposing his nomination.rnPrior to his confirmation, Pizzella had been designated Acting Chairman of the Federal Labor RelationsrnAuthority (FLRA). He previously served as a member of the FLRA, confirmed by the Senate with a voice voternin October 2013. Under President Bush, Pizzella served as Assistant Secretary of Labor for Administration andrnManagement at the DOL.
