摘要

In order to reduce the burden on the smallest of small business taxpayers, the IRS created the Form 944rnProgram in early 2006. The Form 944 Program allows taxpayers who owe $1,000 or less in total employment taxrn(Social Security, Medicare and withheld federal income tax) per year to file their employment tax returns annuallyrn(rather than quarterly using Form 941) and, in most cases, pay the employment tax due with their return (ratherrnthan monthly or semiweekly). Employers required to file Form 943, Employer's Annual Federal Tax Return ForrnAgricultural Employees, or Form 1040, Schedule H, Household Employment Taxes, are ineligible for the Formrn944 Program.
